The Department of Physics and Astronomy at the Botswana International University of Science and Technology is seeking applicants for the post of Visiting Lecturer/Senior Lecturer in Astrophysics for a period of up to 6 months. The start date should not be later than the 22nd of May. We welcome applications from exceptional scholars with research and teaching interests in the broad field of astrophysical transients and extra-galactic numerical simulations, however, all astrophysics areas will be considered particularly those related to MeerKAT and SKA science. The successful candidate will teach the 4th year Radio Astronomy module and other modules within the Department of Physics and Astronomy. The Botswana International University of Science and Technology, located in the village of Palapye, is a new institution with a fledgling astronomy group. The group has two 2-metre radio dishes on campus for teaching and are in the process of acquiring a number of optical telescopes for outreach, teaching and basic research. The Department is rapidly expanding and continually developing. Applicants with a PhD in Physics or Astronomy will be considered. Those in the process of finishing would be required to have submitted their PhD thesis by the start date.
