Title: Phosphine on Venus data reduction clarification.
Description: Its a shame that they refer to "CASA pipeline" reduction. The data used by that team is not from the ALMA pipeline, it is a manual data reduction, as I know for certain they were told multiple times. Perhaps you could ask them to correct these issues.
The usescratch parameter determines whether the virtual (False) or actual (True) model column is used. The virtual column is faster but has many caveats. It has NEVER been used by the ALMA pipeline; it is important that those authors correct what they say.
In particular, time variable models are not supported for usescratch = False, so solar system models are not treated correctly. The longer the SS observation, and the smaller the beam, the worse the effect will be.
When CASA introduced the usescratch option (long ago Cycle 2ish), it was set with the terrible default of False (i.e. anything that makes CASA look faster is accepted). i.e. wrong for Solar System objects.
